SMART CONTROLLERS

WiFi-enabled Rachio, Rain Bird, and Hunter controllers that cut water waste.

Smart Controllers

An old dial timer is the easiest upgrade you can make to your system. Smart controllers skip cycles when it rains, adjust runtimes as the seasons change, and let you control the whole system from your phone. Most homeowners see 20–30% less water usage in the first year. We install and configure Rachio, Rain Bird WiFi, and Hunter Hydrawise. We handle the full swap: remove the old controller, wire the new one, connect to your WiFi, program every zone, and walk you through the app so you're comfortable from day one.

WHAT WE SEE IN THE FIELD

If any of these sound familiar, it's time to call.

An Old Timer You Have To Reprogram Constantly

"You're changing the schedule every time the weather turns"
Here's what we do

Old mechanical dials and basic digital timers don't know it's about to rain, don't adjust for temperature, and don't reduce runtime in cooler months. You end up manually reprogramming every few weeks. A smart controller handles all of that automatically based on local weather data.

Water Bills That Keep Climbing

"Your summer bill is 2–3× your winter bill"
Here's what we do

Most old controllers run the same schedule whether it rained yesterday or not. Smart controllers skip cycles after rain, adjust runtime based on forecast temperature, and typically cut outdoor water use by 20–30%, which translates to real savings every summer in North Texas water rates.

No Way To Control The System From Your Phone

"You can't turn the system on or off from vacation"
Here's what we do

Every smart controller we install comes with a phone app, so you can run a test zone after a repair, shut the system off remotely during a storm, or change watering days without walking to the garage. You also get notifications if a zone runs abnormally long or if your WiFi drops.

Your City Offers A Smart Controller Rebate

"You've heard neighbors got rebates back from the utility"
Here's what we do

Several North Texas water utilities offer rebates for EPA WaterSense-certified smart controllers. Rachio qualifies in most. We know which local utilities currently offer rebates, help you pick a qualifying model, and give you the paperwork you need to apply.

You're Building A New Home Or Upgrading Your System

"You're starting from scratch anyway"
Here's what we do

If you're installing a new system or doing a major upgrade, it doesn't make sense to put a basic timer on it. We include a smart controller by default on all new builds, the marginal cost is small and the savings start immediately.

PARTS ON EVERY TRUCK, FOR EVERY MAJOR BRAND

Rachio

Our primary smart controller install. Best app, best weather intelligence, and qualifies for most North Texas utility rebates.

Rain Bird WiFi

Our other primary install brand for smart controllers. Right choice if you want to stay within the Rain Bird ecosystem, compatible with existing Rain Bird valve manifolds and sensors.

Hunter Hydrawise

We also diagnose and service Hunter Hydrawise — ideal for larger systems or homeowners who want flow monitoring and leak detection built in.

Hunter Pro-HC

We also diagnose and service Hunter Pro-HC for homeowners who want weather-based scheduling and phone app control.

INCLUDED WITH EVERY JOB

No hidden fees. No surprises. Here's exactly what's covered.

Old controller removal and disposal

New smart controller mounting and wiring

WiFi connection and app setup on your phone

Zone-by-zone programming and optimization

Weather intelligence configuration

Water utility rebate guidance (where applicable)

HOW WE DO IT

Step 01

Assess Current System

We check your existing controller, wiring, number of zones, and valve compatibility to confirm a smart controller will work, which it does for 95%+ of residential systems.

Step 02

Select the Right Controller

We recommend the best smart controller for your setup, Rachio for most homeowners, Hunter Hydrawise for larger systems, or Rain Bird WiFi if you want to stay within the Rain Bird ecosystem.

Step 03

Install & Wire

We remove the old controller, mount the new unit, transfer all zone wiring, and connect to your home WiFi. The swap typically takes 45–90 minutes.

Step 04

Configure & Train

We set up the app on your phone, program every zone with the right run times, enable weather intelligence, and walk you through daily use so you're comfortable from day one.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Almost always yes. Most North Dallas homeowners see a 20–30% reduction in outdoor water usage in the first year, which typically pays for the controller through summer water bill savings within the first year or two. Call us and we can talk you through whether it fits your system.

Almost always. Smart controllers replace your existing timer and connect to the same valve wiring. As long as your system has standard 24V valves (nearly all residential systems do), a smart controller will work.

We recommend Rachio for most homeowners, best app, best weather intelligence, and easiest to use. For commercial or complex multi-zone systems, Hunter Hydrawise is also excellent. We install all major brands.

Several North Texas water utilities offer rebates for EPA WaterSense-certified smart controllers (Rachio qualifies for most of them). We can tell you if your local utility participates and help you apply for whatever they're currently offering.

The controller itself is usually mounted in the garage or near an exterior wall, so it only needs a normal indoor WiFi signal. It does not need outdoor WiFi coverage, the controller communicates with your valves through existing low-voltage wiring, not WiFi. If your garage has weak signal, a WiFi extender solves it.

All smart controllers we install, Rachio, Hunter Hydrawise, and Rain Bird WiFi, retain their programming through power outages using internal memory. When power returns, the controller picks up where it left off. Your schedule and zone settings are also backed up in the cloud, so nothing is lost.

WE KNOW THIS SOIL, THIS WATER, THIS WEATHER

Long hot summers, unpredictable rain, and tiered water rates make smart controllers pay off faster here than almost anywhere else in the country. We also know which local utilities still offer rebates, and we set up every controller to comply automatically with your city's watering restrictions.
